Working Moms, Meeting Needs

If someone would have told me 5 years ago that Latiaynna and I would be impacting so many members of our community with Black Girls With Green Thumbs, I don’t know if I would have believed it. Over the past year our programs such as Green Thumbs At HOME have been a significant supplement to the communities we live and work in. Our programs have also given us the freedom to thrive as working mothers. Because of this, we are able to engage with other families who also value togetherness while creating a new and sustainable future.

Black Girls With Green Thumbs has encouraged families to grow their own food and herbs whether they have access to an acre of land or a few pots on a window sill. Gardening and plant based cooking are great activities to share! I can personally attest as a special needs parent that gardening and cooking have boosted my child’s confidence, range of foods he will eat, and his immune system.

When families work together to plant and care for a garden, our homes, minds, bodies, and the world at large all benefit!
